97 lakh rupees came to Divyang’s bank account
Puneet Kumar, who lives in Ratnandpur village of Nawabganj area of Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, is partially disabled. His house is covered with raw and broken tile. The economic situation is very weak. But surprisingly, the police came to know that there was a transaction of Rs 97.24 lakh in Puneet’s account. The transaction took place between 15 July and 18 September 2024.
The case came to light from the report of Financial Intelligence Unit India (FIU-in). It was told in the report that Puneet suddenly received crores of money in his account and then the same day was transferred to other accounts. Taking the matter seriously, SSP Anurag Arya formed an investigation team and ordered the Nawabganj police station to take action.
When the police investigated intensively, it was found that this transaction is unusual and suspicious. After that an FIR has been registered against Puneet. When Vijay Singh, Daroga of Nawabganj police station, went to Puneet’s house and found that Puneet’s condition, living and income source of income did not match the bank statement at all. Neither the house is sure, nor any concrete source of income, yet the amount of lakhs in the account was repeatedly raising doubts.
Revealed by report
The Daroga has prepared the investigation report and submitted the police station in -charge Rahul Singh, after which a report was filed on Puneet. Puneet started a welding shop called Puneet Agro in Likheda village in January 2024, but he could not succeed. After this, he opened the shop in the village itself. Which his father started running. Then the father fell ill, the shop was also closed. After this, Puneet worked in Bareilly’s call center, then went to Rudrapur, but there was no work there. Finally he returned home. Overall, there was no permanent means of his earnings.
Police investigation also revealed that the day the money used to come in the account. On the same day, he was sent to other accounts. This method matches the methods of hawala and cyber fraud. In such a situation, the police suspect that all this transaction may be a part of a big network.
Police is investigating
According to police sources, it is also feared that cyber criminals open their accounts by taking their documents from the working class or poor people. Then the money of cheating is transferred in the same accounts and withdrawn. In return, some money is given to the account holder. Puneet may have been trapped in any such trap, or intentionally join it.
SSP Anurag Arya said that after the report of FIU, many such suspicious accounts are being investigated in the district. Investigation is going on in Puneet’s case. If he is found guilty, strict action will be taken by filing a charge sheet on him.
