Akash missile did such a good job that tears got in my eyes … Know what else the scientist who made it said

New Delhi: India thwarted every attack in Pakistan through Akash Air Defense System during Operation Sindoor. The Akash missile defense system built in the country has now become successful. It has passed its first real test on the western border with Pakistan. This was proud of DRDO’s then project director Prahlad Rama Rao. He said that it took 15 years to make this system. Thousands of scientists from many defense lab across the country worked together.

Pakistan’s attacks failed

Rama Rao said that on the night of 8 and 9 May, Pakistan had attacked with drones and missiles. The Akash missile defense system thwarted those attacks. This proved its strength. Indian Air Force GMO Air Marshal A.K. Bharti also said that India’s defense systems, such as Akash and S400 Triumph, stood like a wall and stopped the enemies from entering.

I have tears in my eyes … Rama Rao

Rama Rao is very happy on this success of Akash. He told toi, “When my child (Akash missile) did such a good job, I have tears in my eyes. It is the happiest day of my life. It is bigger than the Padma Award.” Rama Rao has also received Padma Shri.

Ramarao was chosen by Kalam

Rama Rao to ‘Missile Man’ Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was chosen. Kalam made him the head of Akash program at the age of 35. At that time Kalam was the head in DRDO’s Defense Research Laboratory (DRL). He later became the Scientific Advisor of the Defense Minister and then the President of India. Rama Rao said about Kalam, “A leader brings a team spirit and motivates everyone to work towards a goal. Kalam was truly a leader. The country now needs 10 Abdul Kalamas so that they can progress in different fields, such as aerospace and defense sector progressed under their leadership.”

Akash missile had been tested several times before. The Army and IAF also saw it using it. But this was the first time it worked in the real fight. Pakistan attacked India with missiles and drones. The Indian Army and IAF have deployed this missile system on the western border. The Akash missile is capable of killing the enemies present in the air. It can also kill fighter jets, cruise missiles, air -to -surface missiles and drones. This system can target several goals simultaneously.

Work on this project started in 1994

Rama Rao said, “We started working on this project in 1994. Its budget was 300 crores at that time. When you create something new, you fail many times. We failed. But we have learned from our mistakes. It was the most difficult to make a radar named Rajendra. Crores were reduced to Rs. “

Rama Rao further said, “I guarantee you that a missile defense system cannot be built anywhere in the world for just 500 crores. Our sky is the cheapest but best missile shield. It can recognize the enemy’s missile from 70 km away and kill it at a distance of 30 km.” Rama Rao is now 78 years old.

Akash missile was built in 2009. After this, it has been continuously improved. Now it has many different versions. Every version has some new features. They meet different needs. These include Mark-I, Akash-1 S (which has a sikar made in the country), Akash Prime (which can work in height areas and cold weather) and Akash-NG (which has a lot of range and which has many new things).
