Why is Apara Ekadashi fast?

According to the legend of Apara Ekadashi, at one time Yudhishthira requested Lord Krishna to tell the importance of Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Jestha month. Then Lord Krishna, by observing the Apara Ekadashi fast, brings freedom from phantom vagina, Brahma murder etc. Lord Krishna described the legend. According to which in ancient times there used to be a righteous king named Mahidhwaja. At the same time, his younger brother Vajradhwaj was very cruel and unrighteous. He used to hate and hate his elder brother Mahidhwaja. One night he killed his elder brother to establish his suzerainty over the state, and buried his corpse under Peepal in the forest.

King Mahidhwaja became a phantom soul in the ghost vagina due to premature death and started living on that peepal tree. Once the sage Dhaumya was coming out of that path. He saw the king as a phantom and found out everything about him from his Maya. The sage was pleased and took the phantom from the Peepal tree and preached the hereafter. To get rid of the phantom vagina, the sage kept the Apara Ekadashi fast, and wished Shri Hari Vishnu for the king. Due to the effect of this virtue, the king’s phantom was freed from the vagina. The king was very happy and thanked Maharishi and went to heaven.
