BCCI will start IPL soon, order given to 9 teams, screwed up due to a team

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in a hurry to resume IPL 2025. He wants to complete it in the scheduled time. It is reported that except Punjab Kings, all other teams have been asked to call their players to their respective cities. This means that IPL may start soon.

Schedule will be released soon

According to a report by the Indian Express, the BCCI has told all 10 teams that a new schedule of IPL will be released soon. He wants all the players to be ready. However, there is concern about foreign players. After stopping IPL 2025 on Friday, most foreign players returned to their homes on the same evening. The report also said that the BCCI has asked all the teams to inform the board about the availability and travel plans of foreign players. Therefore, teams are making special arrangements to bring these foreign players back to India.

Punjab Kings just refused

However, due to an uncertain situation in Chandigarh and Dharamshala, Punjab Kings may have to play at some other place. The BCCI has yet to decide which place will be. A source said that all the teams have been asked to call their players in their cities by Tuesday. Punjab will have to play at some other place, so their place is not yet decided. The board is planning to hold more double headers (two matches a day) so that the IPL can be abolished on time.

Final date will be extended

The final of IPL 2025 has been carried forward. The report also reported that the BCCI plans to resume IPL in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad on 16 May. The remaining 16 matches (12 league matches and four playoffs) will be released on Sunday night. However, teams have expressed concern about the availability of their foreign players. In addition, the final date can be extended by 30 May. Earlier, the final was scheduled to be held on 25 May. Australia and South African players will prepare for the final of the World Test Championship to be held at Lord’s from June 11. Therefore, their availability will be uncertain after 25 May.

The tournament was stopped on Friday as the match being played in Dharamshala between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals remained incomplete. Earlier on Saturday, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said that after a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the BCCI is planning to resume the tournament ‘immediately’.

Dhumal told the Indian Express, ‘The ceasefire has just been announced. Now we are exploring the possibility of starting and finishing the IPL again. If it is possible to conduct it immediately. We have to decide the place, dates and everything, and we will now talk to team owners, broadcasters and all involved and find out how to move forward. Most importantly, we have to seek advice from the government.
