There has been a major disclosure about the metro network of the national capital Delhi which is extremely worrisome. The Delhi Police has recovered 6 pistols, 16 bullets, 31 cartridges and 14 cartridges from different metro stations in the city in two years and three months during vigilant operations. Actually, this information has been shared under Right to Information i.e. RTI. According to information received by the RTI Act, the metro unit of Delhi Police seized seven cartridges and a desi pistol during the campaign till March 15 this year.

According to information received by RTI, in 2024, the police seized 12 bullets, eight cartridges and four cartridges. Apart from this, the police seized four pistols including three desi pistols. At the same time, the number of pistols recovered from 2023 to 2024 has also increased. At the same time, the number of seizures of ammunition has decreased. The number of pistol seizures increased in 2024 compared to the last few years, while in 2023 the police seized the same desi pistol. RTI revealed that short ammunition was recovered during this period, while in the year 2023, 30 ammunition including four bullets, more than 23 cartridges had been recovered.
What did the police officer say
A senior police official said that it is one of the busiest public transport networks in the country, but this seizure is the result of strict security measures taken by the police at all stations in the national capital to prevent any untoward incident. He said, “We have increased security and are making sure that there is no criminal activity in the Delhi Metro. We want to ensure the safety of all the passengers and provide them a safe environment. ”
