The 18th season of IPL was to be played from 22 March to 24 May. But after the military confrontation between India and Pakistan, the 58th match of this league was stopped in the middle. Then the BCCI suspended the league for a week. However, now the ceasefire has agreed to stop the military conflict between the two countries. In such a situation, the BCCI is once again preparing to start this tournament. But this time there will be changes in the schedule as well as the venue.
Big update on IPL 2025 new schedule
According to the report of the Indian Express, the BCCI can tell all 10 teams a new schedule for the remaining matches of the league by tonight (May 11). So that all the teams can start their preparations and submit the squad at one place. Along with this, the date of the league will also be extended forward. That is, instead of May 24, the final match of the current season will be played on May 30. Apart from this, more double headers can be included in the new schedule, so that old matches can be covered. It is believed that the remaining matches of the league will be played in Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad itself.
According to reports, the BCCI has informed the IPL teams about the gathering by Tuesday. Actually, most foreign players have returned to their respective countries. In such a situation, all ten franchisees are trying to call foreign players and coaching staff back to India. Foreign players left India between Friday and Saturday after the league was suspended. However, the biggest tension for all teams is also whether their foreign players will return to India or not.
Will PBKS vs DC match be played again?
Let me tell you, the match of Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala was stopped in the middle after warning of air strikes in Jammu and Pathankot on 8 May. But points have not been distributed between the two teams. In such a situation, BCCI will also decide on this match. It is believed that this match can be done again, or where the game stopped, it can be fed further. Before the match was stopped, Punjab Kings had scored 122 runs at the loss of 1 wicket in 10.1 overs, in which Punjab opener Priyansh Arya scored a stormy innings of 70 runs off 34 balls and Prabhasimran Singh who was unbeaten.
