The Victory Day Parade is being organized on the 80th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s defeat in Moscow amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. On this occasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited many leaders from all over the world. However, Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonsky has threatened not to guarantee the safety of foreign dignitaries participating in the parade.

Despite this warning, Chinese President Xi Jinping has announced that he will be on an official visit to Russia from 7 to 10 May and will participate in the ceremony to be held on 9 May. According to the Kremlin, the two leaders will discuss the development of strategic partnership, regional and global issues, and many agreements during this period.

Putin’s ceasefire proposal dismissed

Russia has proposed a three -day ceasefire with Ukraine in view of the May 9 celebrations. Putin has described it as a brief human stop. However, Jailonsky reacted to this and said that if the ceasefire is at least 30 days, then Ukraine will accept it. He alleged that Russia is not interested in permanent solution, but is using it for symbolic opportunities.

Ukraine angry with China’s participation

The Ukrainian President has accused China of providing weapons and ammunition to Russia. He said, at a time when Russia is attacking us, any country that supports him will be considered a violation of our sovereignty.

The Parade to be held in Moscow is also expected to involve the heads of Brazil, Serbia and Slovakia. The event is being organized to pay homage to the historic victory of the Soviet Union in World War II and the sacrifice of more than 27 million citizens and soldiers.

Celebrations will be a stage of world leaders

Russian President Putin recently described relations with China as deep and really strategic in a documentary. He said that Russia-China partnership is not only commercial, but is also playing an important role in giving a new shape to global balance and geopolitics.

Diplomatic experts believe that this time the Victory Day Parade has become a platform of changing signs of global power balance, not just historical remind.
