Cleaning side effects in Indore, food crisis on two and a half million dogs of the city, cutting 1 thousand people due to hunger everyday

Indore is number one in cleanliness, which is why Indore is named in the entire country. But the side effects of this cleanliness are also coming out. Actually, more than 1000 cases are coming in Indore daily due to dog bites. The lines in other hospitals of the city, including Lal Hospital, are telling the story of terror of dogs in Indore. Children, elderly and women are becoming the most victims of dogs. The administration is also now troubled by increasing cases and is planning to reduce them.

In fact, due to cleanliness, the food crisis is coming for about 2.5 lakh stray dogs in the city. The dogs are not getting food. This food crisis is becoming violent of animals. Explain that the local administration is preparing for the biggest campaign so far in the sterilization of these animals amid the increasing incidence of bite of stray dogs in the city.

Officials said on Tuesday that the administration has decided that a six -month special campaign will be conducted for sterilization of stray dogs in the city to control their number.

Irritated due to hunger: Dr. Uttam Yadav, in charge of Animal Birth Control (ABC) program in the Municipal Corporation, said that 30 to 35 stray dogs are usually sterilized every day in the city. We have set a target to increase this number to 90. Human resources and other facilities are being increased for this. Yadav admitted that the stray dogs of the city are becoming irritable due to hunger.

No food is available anymore: He said that a few years ago garbage used to be lying here and there in the city and big waste boxes were also kept. Stray dogs used to find their food in them, but now the city does not have garbage boxes and garbage is deposited from every house and establishment from municipal vehicles. Due to this, stray dogs are not getting food easily.

The in -charge of the ABC program said that stray dogs have to leave their area in search of food and go to other areas, causing their violent struggles with other dogs and sometimes stressed with it and hungry dogs bite common people. Yadav said that during the lockout due to the outbreak of Kovid-19, the local administration had arranged food for stray dogs, but now there is no such system in the city.

Feeder cards are distributed: He said that we have distributed ‘feeder cards’ to some NGOs and animals to distribute food to stray dogs so that these animals continue to get food and reduce irritability in them due to hunger. Yadav obeyed that there are about 2.5 lakh stray dogs in the municipal limits.

What do experts say: Priyanshu Jain, president of the Indore unit of ‘People for Animals’, an organization working to protect the interests of animals, said that there has been a crisis of food and drinking water for stray dogs in the cleanest city of the country which increases in the summer season. The work of feeding stray dogs in the city is not easy. Many people quarrel with the animal lovers about why stray dogs are being fed in front of their house?

Jain said that his organization has suggested to the Municipal Corporation that regular arrangements should be made for stray dogs at 50 marked places of the city to reduce the irritability of these animals struggling with hunger and thirst.

People behave badly with dogs: He said that many people deliberately hurt stray dogs and kill them. Seeing all this, dogs become aggressive. We have so far lodged about 160 FIRs for the violent behavior of people with stray dogs in the city.
