In the 52nd match of IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Chennai Super Kings by 2 runs. Batting first, the RCB team scored 213 for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Chennai Super Kings team could only manage 211 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. At one time Chennai Super Kings had reached very close to the victory, but a wrong decision changed the map of the match and the team lost the winning game. The CSK player against whom this verdict was given was an expert in scoring fast runs, but he returned to the pavilion after getting out at zero. Ravindra Jadeja also protested this decision, but by then it was too late. This decision of the umpire has been defended by senior umpire Anil Chaudhary and has unveiled the whole matter.
What is the whole matter
The whole matter happened in the 17th over during the innings of Chennai Super Kings. It happened that the 17th over RCB fast bowler Lungi brought the angidi. Ayush Mhatre, who was batting brilliantly on the second ball of this over, was out. After this, Dewald Brevis came to bat. The third ball of the over was thrown by the full toss, which Brevis tried to kill from across the line, but he missed it completely. The ball collided with his pad. When the bowler appealed, the umpire immediately gave him out.
Brevis spoke to Jadeja on a non -stocker to take a review, but when he pointed the DRS, the umpire said that the time of 15 seconds is over. Dewald Brevis Angry returned to the pavilion as DRS timer was not shown on the screen at the stadium. Ravindra Jadeja was not happy with this decision and he clashed with the umpire. In this over, Ngidi took two consecutive wickets and turned towards Bangalore in the match.
Anil Chaudhary told the real reason
Senior umpire Anil Chaudhary has expressed his opinion on this whole matter. He said in a Star Sports show, “There was no fault of the umpire in this. The batsman himself has to take care of time and when 5 seconds survive, the umpires also indicate it. It is a part of the rule and must have been done. He said,” Bravis was busy taking the run and hence could not hear the umpire’s voice. “
He told that after the bowler is dismissed, the ball is dead and runs are not valid on it, even if the DRS gets a knotout. Brevis and Ravindra Jadeja spoiled their time in the process of taking the run. Anil Chaudhary said, “It is a matter of concern that there is no timer on the screen of the stadium, but there is no mistake of the umpire. This mistake was of the screen operator. Brevis was a bit bad, but the decision of the umpire is the last in the match.
