Ward dwellers in Sorid ward of the municipal area have been troubled by the problem of drinking water for a long time. Here the municipal corporation is providing water supply from the tanker, this has provided relief to the ward dwellers. Similarly, there is a problem of water in other wards.
In the summer season, water is not coming out with the help of motor pump due to the ground water level going down. People are very upset with the water problem. This problem has remained in the Sorid Kali temple area since last month. It has also been complained in the Municipal Corporation. After the complaint in the corporation, water is being supplied here with the help of water tankers. Balaram Rajak KL Dahria, residents of Sorid Ward Kali Temple, Bhuvan Lal Sinha, Rakesh Tiwari, Prateek Sahu said that there is a water problem in the Kali temple area. It has been complained to the corporation. Water is being supplied from the tanker. There has been talk of bore mining in the ward from the corporation. Due to lack of adequate water from the bore, they are taking water from the municipal tanker. Sunil Kosaria, Raju Sahu said that water has to be taken from the tanker. Similarly, Sampat Sahu of Bathana ward, Ganesh Kumar said that it is a compulsion to take water from the tanker due to lack of water from the bore. Residents of Ambedkar Ward, Kunti Bai, Jankibai, Jayakumar said that they have been taking water from the municipal tanker for the last two months. The bore applied here brings very little water. Water is supplied from water tankers in many wards including Gokulpur ward, which has brought relief to the people.
In this regard, Akhilesh Sonkar, a MIC member of the Municipal Corporation and in -charge of the Water Department, said that there is no serious problem of drinking water in 40 wards of Dhamtari Municipal Corporation. In the wards where the ground water level has gone down, water is being supplied from the water tanker immediately on receiving the complaint. Due to this, the ward residents are not facing water problems. Apart from this, tonts have been installed in open tapils in many wards of the city, this has also banned water wastage.
