Amid the ongoing tension from the US over the nuclear program, Iran’s Defense Ministry on Sunday launched its new solid fuel -powered Kasim Basir Ballistic Missile. The missile was tested on 17 April. The firepower of this missile is up to 1,200 km and can target accurately without GPS.

According to media reports, Defense Minister General Aziz Nasirzadeh said that the missile has advanced technology of guidelines and mobility, so that it can target the anti-ballistic defense system.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth wrote in a post on social media platform X on 1 May that he has warned Iran about the support given to the huts in Yemen. Reacting to this, Naseerzade said that if the US or Israel starts war, Iran will attack their interests, bases and forces, wherever they are and whenever necessary.

Naseerzadeh said that we have no enmity towards neighboring countries and we want brotherhood relations, but in the event of an attack, American bases in the area will be considered a valid target. Regarding the recent missile attack on Israel by Yemen’s huts, Naseerzadeh said that Yemen is an independent nation that takes its own decisions, and rejected American efforts to connect Iran with conflict there.

The launching of the missile has occurred amid growing tension after the attack on Ben Gurian Airport in Israel. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed significant action against both Hutis and his Iranian supporters. This incident reflects a significant edge in regional enmity.

Meanwhile, the indirect conversation between Iran and the US, which was scheduled in Rome on 3 May, was postponed last week. Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that the adjournment has come at the request of Oman’s Foreign Minister, who is mediation in the conversation. The announcement of the new date is yet to be announced.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened that if there is no agreement, he will carry out airstrikes by targeting Iran’s program. Iranian officials are constantly warning that they can move towards making nuclear weapons by enriching their uranium reserves to arms level.
