On this day, 10 years ago in 2015, on May 09, the Central Government launched the Prime Minister’s Security Insurance Scheme (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) to provide the facility of this to poor people as well. An accidental insurance of Rs 2 lakh is given at an annual premium of just Rs 20 through PM Suraksha Bima Yojana. Whereas through Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, life insurance of Rs 2 lakh is available for just Rs 436.
Installment will be cut before 31 May
The premium of both Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Suraksha Bima Yojana is counted from 1 June to 31 May. Therefore, the annual installment of these two schemes is deducted in the month of May itself. That is why you have to keep money in your bank account, which both these schemes are connected. This account should also be linked to Aadhaar card. The premium will be deducted to renew the policy on behalf of the insurance company before 31 May.
If there is no money in the account?
If there is no money in your account, then your policy will not be renewed. You may have to visit the bank to renew the policy. If you do not get a chance to fill the premium of the policy after May 31, then you will not get an insurance cover. You may have to stay without insurance cover throughout the year. Apart from this, whenever the policy renewal, you will get a cover from the same day. If there is some accident in the earlier days, you will not be able to claim.
If the account is closed then get it changed
Through net banking, you can find out which bank account of your policy cuts the premium of these policy. If the account from which you took this policy in 2015, it has stopped, then you should get it replaced immediately. For this, you can go to your bank and take help.
