Border crossed on 23 April
Sahu (40), posted in Ferozepur sector of Punjab, inadvertently crossed the international border on 23 April and was later taken into custody by ‘Pakistan Rangers’. Rajni, a resident of Rishra in Hooghly district of West Bengal, told reporters that the Chief Minister also asked about my health and assured me that she would ensure medical help for the elderly people of my in -laws. He also assured to make every effort for the release of my husband. Rajni also went to the attic border as tension between India and Pakistan increased but then returned from there.
What will be the way to release?
Rajni said that after the consent between India and Pakistan to stop military action, he has spoken to the BSF officials but has not yet received any fresh information. The BSF worker’s wife hoped that her husband would be brought back to the ‘Pakistani Ranger’ through a possible swapping which was caught by Indian forces in Rajasthan on May 3. Senior Trinamool Congress leader and MP Kalyan Banerjee said that he had spoken to the Director General of BSF on Saturday evening regarding Sahu’s release. (With agency input)
