Amidst the increased tension between India and Pakistan, there were also many emotional pictures on the Attari-Wagah border.

The story of a mother and daughter came out on the attic border, who made the eyes of the people present there moist. This mother has an Indian passport, while her daughter has a Pakistani passport… In such a situation, after the decree of the Government of India, these women are afraid of separating from their loved ones. The daughter wept and said, ‘We will not even go to children without mother. If you want to go, then with the mother, otherwise it will stay here.

What is the whole matter?
26 people were killed in a terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam. After this, the Government of India canceled the visa issued to Pakistani citizens. The Ministry of External Affairs announced on 23 April that all Pakistani citizens would have to leave India by 27 April. After this decision, hundreds of Pakistani citizens gathered to return with their families on the Attari border, but many families were stopped due to documents and citizenship issues.

One of these was Shanija Khan (changed name), who hails from Jodhpur, Rajasthan and who was married 10 years ago in Karachi, Pakistan. Shanija has an Indian passport, but he has an 8 -year -old daughter and a 6 -year -old son has a Pakistani passport. Shanija came to Delhi to meet her ailing mother, but after the Pahalgam attack, she and her children got an order to return to Pakistan immediately.

Mother-daughter pain on the border
Shanija arrived at the attic border to return to Pakistan with her daughter and son. However, the authorities stopped him, as Shanija was not allowed to go to Pakistan due to his Indian passport. On the other hand, his children were allowed to go on his Pakistani passport basis. This situation put the family in an emotional crisis.

Shanija’s story is not alone. Going back to Pakistan, another 81 -year -old woman said, ‘What happened in Pahalgam is wrong. That’s why we are silent. They should be punished. I have come here for 2 months.

There are many families on the attic border, whose members have citizenship and passports from different countries. These views not only reflect the pain of a family, but also highlight the tragedy of hearts divided on the border between India and Pakistan.
