Importance of Narasimha Jayanti
Narasimha Jayanti reminds me of the divine form of Lord Narasimha, who came out of a pillar to protect his devotee Prahlada and destroy the demon Raj Hiranyakashyap. This incarnation is a symbol of the victory of devotion over ego, atrocities and evil. This form of God, which is partially man, and partially lion, shows that divine powers are beyond human logic and manifest in unimaginable ways to protect religion.
Worship method
On this day, devotees keep a harsh fast from sunrise to sunset or the next day till the time of passing. The idol of Lord Narasimha is anointed and worshiped and offered offerings.
