Noor Khan Airbase, Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, is just 10 km from Rawalpindi’s Chaklala area and is the headquarters of the ‘Air Mobility Command’ of the Pakistani Air Force. Pakistan’s Air Force operates secret military operations, logistic transport and airborn radar system from here. Because of which this airbase is considered to be the heartbeat of Pakistan’s strategic military system, especially when it is to operate drone and missile attacks against India. This was the reason that it was the airbase on India’s target. According to several reports, the Indian space agency ISRO itself has been closely monitoring this airbase with its surveillance satellite, so India had already had many information about this airbase.
Why did Pakistan Army move from the attack on Noor Khan Airbase?
On May 10, India used the BrahMos missile to attack Murid and Rafiki Airbase in Shorkot in Chakwal along with Noor Khan Airbase. Pakistan could not even track this missile, hence these airbases have become very innocent. Noor Khan Airbase has suffered a lot in India’s attack. Pakistani media and security sources have confirmed the destruction of significant infrastructure. According to the report, Pakistan used to run a reconnaissance mission from this airbase. Apart from this, the base of long -range missiles is also the same airbase. That is, India neutralized Pakistan’s ability to hit long distances by attacking this airbase. Apart from this, the New York Center has said that after the attack on Noor Khan airbase, Pakistan believed that India’s next target is Pakistan’s nuclear command center.
Pakistan failed badly to stop the missile attacks of India and its defense systems flopped. Some people are raising questions that Pakistan can go ahead and buy a defense system, on which the question arises from whom? The Chinese defense system has flopped and Türkiye itself uses the Russian S-400. Reports suggest that Indian missiles have attacked the airbase without any obstruction. Which scared the high officials of Pakistan’s army. According to reports, India wanted to convey a message by flying Nur Khan airbase that its next target could be the Nuclear Command Authority. The Nuclear Command Authority consists of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Army Army Chief Aseem Munir, who has to take a decision on nuclear attacks. That is, India scared Pakistan that Pakistan’s ability to attack nuclear center would be abolished.
After the attack on Noor Khan Airbase, the report came that the Prime Minister of Pakistan had called a meeting of the Nuclear Command Authority, as he feared that India was about to attack the center. However, the Defense Minister of Pakistan later denied the report. But it has not been confirmed yet whether such a meeting was held in Pakistan or not. But this created panic in Pakistan’s military and political. This attack of India was not just a strategic action, but very careful calibrated strategic message. American Defense Experts say this strike was a clear warning for Pakistan that India had the ability to ‘decapit’ its nuclear command when needed. Pakistani media and military sources admitted that the airbase’s important infrastructure was destroyed, air recon and long-range attack capabilities have been severely affected.
