Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
The rhetoric has now intensified in the ongoing dispute of the Bhakra dam between Punjab and Haryana. The Punjab government clearly says that they will not give water to Haryana. The matter has caught so much that now a special session of one day of the Punjab Assembly has been called. This session will start at 11 am on Monday morning. Earlier, while talking to the media, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann made it clear that he will not give water.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has dismissed the water sharing dispute with Haryana and said that there is no dispute. He claimed that the figures are in favor of Punjab and Haryana is asking for more water than its share. There was talk of giving them 20 percent water, which they have spent. Now they will not be given water.

Haryana is asking for more than its share of water. The only logic they (Haryana) are giving is that earlier, pic.twitter.com/ezwPYiqNsW

CM Mann said that water is constantly being sought from Haryana, he argues that they have been getting more water earlier, but Punjab has improved its canal system and now there is no extra water. We used to use only 21 percent water earlier. Today, due to improving the system, we are using the right water of up to 60 percent water. This is why we are not going to give water anymore.
Everyone’s eyes on Punjab assembly session
Earlier, both Punjab and Haryana states had held separate all-party meetings, in which each party supported the governments’ stance, advocating the interests of their respective state. Even after the meetings, no solution has been found. This is the reason that now Union Minister Manohar Lal Khatter has also reached Punjab.
However, everyone is going to be eyeing this special session of Punjab. It is believed that through this session, a proposal for not providing additional water to Riyana will be brought to the House and can also be passed by a majority. Maan government is seen in the mood for the fight across the water issue.
The Punjab government has already said that Haryana is being given 4000 cusecs of water as per the requirement. The demand for 8500 cusecs of water is illegitimate. Haryana will use additional water for irrigation. The central government has also started interfering with this.
