New Delhi. Pakistan, who threatens India for war, is only one country in the world. This can be gauged from the fact that 81 percent of the total weapons coming in Pakistan belong to this one country. Looking at the figures of Sipri, it is clear that in the last 15 years, Pakistan has become completely dependent on this country. The interesting thing is that both Pakistan and the country who supplies weapons are India’s biggest enemies.
We are talking about China, from where the most weapons have been supplied to Pakistan between 2020 and 2024. China holds 81 percent of the total weapons imports from China only. After this comes the number from the Netherlands, from where Pakistan has been supplied 5.5 percent of the arms and Turkey has now reached the third position with 3.8 percent stake in the case. Between 2009 and 2014, 51 percent of weapons were supplied to Pakistan from China, which increased to 73 per cent between 2015 and 2019.

Away from American, Pakistan becomes close to China
As Pakistan’s supply of arms from China increased, its distance from America has also increased. Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) has released data related to weapons and army stating that America was once the biggest weapon supplier in Pakistan. Between 2009 and 2014, Pakistan used to buy 30 percent of weapons from America and now its share has gone below 1 percent. Italy was also earlier included in the big suppliers of Pakistan, but now it has been replaced by Turkey and Netherlands.
Pakistan coming close to Turkey
Both business and close between Pakistan and Turkey are growing. After India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, only Turkey and Azerbaijan opposed this move. Between 2014 and 2024, the export of Pakistan to Turkey has increased to more than 10 per cent and Turkey is also increasing arms supply to Pakistan. This is the reason why both countries have become ally of each other.
Total imports from China also increased
Talking about Pakistan and China, between 2009 and 2014, Pakistan’s import from China was 41 per cent, which has increased to 63 per cent between 2020-24. Talking about buying weapons, Pakistan was the 5th largest buyer in the world in the last 4 years. His share has increased from 2.8 percent to 4.6 percent now from 2015 and 2019. Pakistan spends 2.8 per cent of its GDP only on defense matters, while countries with other low-fund income spend only 1.8 per cent, while countries with middle income spend 2 per cent.
