Sita Navami 2025: In Sanatan Dharma, Sita is considered very auspicious of Navami. This festival is celebrated with great pomp across the country. It is celebrated after Ram Navami. It also goes in the name of this Janaki Jayanti. According to religious belief, on this day, Mother Sita descended on earth. Mother Sita is also known by the names of Janaki, Maithili, Siya etc. On this day, married women fast for their husband’s long life and offer prayers with law and order.
Sita Navami date
According to the Vedic almanac, the Navami Tithi of Vaishakh month Shukla Paksha will begin on May 5 at 7.35 am. The date will conclude at 8.38 am on May 6, the next day. According to Udaya Tithi, this year the fast of Sita Navami will be observed on 5 April.

Auspicious time of worship on Sita Navami
According to the Panchang, the auspicious time of worship on Janaki Jayanti will start from 10.58 am to 1.38 am. During this time, devotees will get a total of 2 hours 40 minutes.
Sita Navami Puja Vidhi
To worship on the day of Sita Navami, get up in Brahma Muhurta and take a bath and wear clean clothes. Clean the place of worship and make Rangoli there and decorate it with flowers. Then install idols or pictures of Mata Sita, Shri Ram, Lakshmana and Hanuman ji. After that, take a pledge of fast with water, rice and flowers in the hand. Fill water in a copper or earthen urn, apply mango leaves and place coconut over it and tie molly around the urn. After that, call the lamp and incense and call Goddess Sita. Chant the mantra “Om Sri Sitayai Namah” and offer flowers. Then bathe the statue of Mother Sita with Panchamrit and then clean it with pure water. Decorate the statue of Mother Sita with beautiful clothes, jewelery and flowers. Offer sandalwood, kumkum, turmeric, akshat, flower, fruit, and naivedya.
