Unified Pension Scheme: The central government has launched a new option unified pension scheme for central employees under the National Pension System. Let me tell you, this scheme has been implemented from 1 April 2025. But in this, pension will be guaranteed to the employee as per certain conditions. But do you know how much money is deducted from your salary every month for UPS.
10 percent contribution will have to be contributed
Every month the employee will have to contribute 10 percent of his basic salary + dearness allowance (DA) under UPS. In this, the government will also contribute the same amount. For this, the government will contribute an estimated extra in UPS Pool Corpus. Only those employees who have been in service since 1 April 2025 and come under NPS. They can select the option of this new scheme. You can go to UPS as per your wish. But after going to UPS, you cannot go back to NPS.
What will happen to NPS amount already deposited
If an employee wants to go to UPS from NPS, then his deposit amount so far will be transferred to the same pension account account. This pension account account will be related to UPS and from there his pension facility will be released from there. The individual corpus shows the total amount deposited in the Pran of every employee connected in UPS. The benchmark corpus is a fictional value that has been decided by the Central Recordskeeping Agency to see which level an employee’s corpus amount is.
This fixed investment plan is based on the net asset value. UPS is an important step towards giving stable and safe pension to government employees. Due to this scheme, employees will create balance between traditional and investment based pension. UPS can be a good option for employees who want to plan income fixed for the coming time.
