Xiaomi is making a comeback to the Indian smartwatch market with the Redmi Watch Move. At a price of just Rs 1,999, it is a brand built in smartwatch in India-a stylish has yet been designed to be a reliable fitness tracker that handles everyone with your wrist, manages the call, and more. I decided to move out the Redmi Watch for a spin, to find out what it has to shake the market and help the Xiaomi to catch the success of Smae enjoying Smae enjoying with the Mi Smart Band in the wearable market. Read to know in this review.

Design and performance

The Redmi Watch Move is sure to bend the head with its premium design and eye -catching color options. In addition to the classic black, it is available in striking colors such as silver sprint, blue blaze and gold rush. For this review, I found the Blue Blaze variant, with a subtle finish with matching straps. Talking about straps, they use an ownership mechanism, much such as prisier is found on smartwatches, equally an easy swap with shaped bands. He said, “It can prove to be difficult to find third-party straps for the Redmi Watch Move, and Xiaomi has stated that it will only release official replacement based on the user’s demand.”

However, no one should be disturbed, looking at their smooth form and not finished which does not bite the wrist. Xiaomi has chosen for TPU straps, known for being anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic, which they are suitable for the whole day’s wear. However, the straps are not exclusively breathe. They can trap moisture from sweat during workouts or rain, which can cause skin irritation if not clean properly. It is a common defect not only in smartwatch but also in traditional wrist clock. On the bright side, the Redmi Watch move claims an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, which means that it can withstand submerses in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes without any problem.

The Redmi Watch Move reminds us of a rectangular dial of the Apple Watch series, complemented by an aluminum frame, 2.5D curved glass at the top, and a soft plastic underside that ensures rest or irritation during the skin. This comfort is further enhanced by its weight, which measures only 39 grams with straps.

Wearable sports with a 1.85-inch AMOLED display 60Hz refresh rate, 600 NITs peak brightness, 390x450p resolution and 74 percent screen-to-body ratio. While all the four sides have noticeable bezels, the performance remains sharp and crisp, it maintains its clarity even when viewed from an angle. In addition, the display is quite responsible for touch, always supports and provides a high contrast ratio with vibrant colors. While the display of the Redmi Watch Move is very bright to make the least label outdoor in the sun’s atmosphere with maximum glow, it lacks an auto-brightness feature-a symptom found in other smartwatches.

As it can be, the wearer claims a lift-to-wise feature, which acts as an advertisement and brightens the screen rapidly when the wrist is raised for a quick look on time and other information. Additionally, a rotating crown, when rotated or pressed, provides some control over the smartwatch, with a touching response in the spine to the right.

Facilities and apps

The Redmi Watch Move has a packed with several features including heart rate monitoring, step counting, calorie tracking, sleep analysis and SPO₂ measurement. It also provides stress tracking and guided breathing exercises to promote relaxation. The enthusiasts of fitness will appreciate the support of more than 140 sports mode. Additionally, Watch supports Bluetooth voice calling – when multitasking or a convenient feature when unable to reach your phone. However, due to its small speaker, the call quality works best in a quiet environment. The speaker is tucking behind the grill just below the left spine, while the microphone is placed on the right spine, next to the crown. The microphone is decent to get your message without any voice.

The Redmi Watch Move can also sync with your smartphone, even though he is not running hyperos, and uses an Mi fitness app to mimic information, introduces insight to tracked health matrix, and tweeted the watch faces along with other things. Smartwatch supports over 200 watch faces, including India-specific for festivals. This watch can store up to five faces at a time for quick switching. Although it can discuss you to warn of information from your phone, you cannot interact with them, such as sending quick answers, at least when paired with an iPhone.

I used the Redmi Watch Move in association with the Mi Fitness App (version 3.33) on my iPhone 16E. The app adds the app basically add with smartwatch, and the data syncing takes just one or two seconds. The home page focuses on ‘Health’, in which all the major information is presented in an easy-to-read card layout. Each card can be expanded with a simple tap to reveal deep insight into its workouts.

The core matrix such as raised steps, calories burnt, and ‘moving’ activities are prominently displayed at the top, color-coded and imagined as a semi-circle that is filled as your daily target approach, which can be replaced according to personal preferences. For more rewarding progress, the app also presents a fun, shared card that compared your burnt calories to a popular food item. Additionally, the app has separate tabs for ‘workouts’, ‘devices’ and ‘profiles’, making the UI clean and comfortable. Mi fitness is also very stable, and did not crash or freeze during my test.

Xiaomi has also added an AI zone to the smartwatch that allows you to answer your questions and generate clock faces using artificial intelligence. The convenience can be done with some improvement, as it is slow and cannot work every time.

Performance and UI

The Redmi Watch Move handles its functions with impressive lubrication. Whether switching between the screen, launching apps, or doing workouts, the device performs without any bottlenecks. It drives hyperos out of the box-Xiaomi’s ownership software, despite being custom-made, feels familiar and closely formed that you will find on other wearbals in the same segment. The left and right swipe from the home screen provides access to health tracking features, an alarm, a timer, a music player, weather, sleep and workout mode. It is optimized. Swipe down from the home screen draws the notification panel, while swiping up opens the quick settings panels.

A long press AI on the crown activates the search assistant, which requires active internet connectivity through a coupled smartphone to get information. A single press app opens the drawer/ jumps on the home screen, while rotating the crown up or down, allows for smooth navigation.

When it comes to health tracking, the Redmi Watch move accurately performs well in the recording steps and burning calories. During my use, smartwatch is reduced by 10 to 15 steps compared to real numbers, which is acceptable. Sleep tracking is also reliable, providing not only the total hours of sleep, but also provides a detailed breakdown – including deep and light sleep, average heart rate and the time spent by you waking up. This data is then rated on the scale of the poor to the outstanding within the fellow app. The clock REM also supports the sleep tracking and breathing score, although these features must be enabled manually.

In 140+ available sports modes, I mainly used freestyle for gym workouts and traveled on foot for my evening walk. During workouts, the smartwatch screen is locked in active mode, allowing you to track the major matrix such as total duration, heart rate and calories were burnt. Additionally, it provides convenient music control, making you direct playback from your smartphone. Walking mode uses GPS of coupled smartphones to track your walk properly; However, the feature did not work as advertised during my use. The GPS struggles with the signal, even if used in the open without any immediate barrier.

Once the workout is finished, you have to break your workout while covered with average heart rate, total duration, intensity of exercise, and other things. The fellow app offers your previous recorded exercises, comparing them to workouts and deeply. However, like most smartwatches, the aim of the data is to provide a general observation of your health and should not be trusted for medical purposes.

battery life

There is a 14 -day battery life between charge with specific use in the Redmi Watch Move. It can fall for 10 days with heavy use, including the voice calling feature and allways-on display. My use, which included most specific uses with a little use to call here and there, saw the smartwatch for 13 days before requiring a charge.

For charging, Xiaomi contains an ownership magnetic cable in the box, which safely attachs behind the clock and requires the USB Type-A port for electricity. A quick 10-minute charge provides regular use of up to two days, while a complete charge takes just 70 minutes-which is affected by the long battery of smartwatch.

Decision

The Redmi Watch Move is a symbol of a strong return for Xiaomi in the budget smartwatch segment in India. With its attractive design, solid construction quality, and convenience-rich experience, especially at a very cheap price of less than Rs 1,999, it punches its weight well over its weight. AMOLED display, long battery life, Bluetooth calling, and a variety of health and fitness tracking facilities make it an excellent choice for smartwatch buyers or casual users for the first time. While it has some rough edges, such as the absence of auto-brightness, limited interactions, and sometimes GPS hiccups, it still costs its price as one of the best price-man-wires for the best value in the bracket.
