A few days ago, 33 IAS officers were transferred in Uttar Pradesh. It also included the name of Kaushal Raj Sharma, IAS officer and commissioner of Varanasi. He was appointed as Secretary to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This transfer must have been barely two weeks that now he has been called on Delhi deputation. Kaushal Raj Sharma has been sent from Uttar Pradesh cadre to AGMUT cadre for three years.
When the transfer order was stopped
This is not the first time this has happened. Even before this, Kaushal Raj Sharma’s transfer has been in discussions. In July 2022, the Yogi government transferred the then DM Varanasi Kaushal Raj Sharma and appointed him as the commissioner of Prayagraj. However, his transfer was stopped late at night. In view of his popularity and work done in Varanasi, an order was issued to appoint him the commissioner of Varanasi.
PM Modi himself honored
Kaushal Raj Sharma hails from Bhiwani district of Haryana. He has done MTech in Textile Engineering and MA in Public Policy. Kaushal Raj Sharma is a 2006 batch IAS officer. They were also included in the list of top 50 IAS officers of the country in 2020. Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the PM Excellence Award in 2022.
Explain that during the deployment in Varanasi, Kaushal Raj Sharma completed many important projects. These include widening of roads in Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and Varanasi. At the same time, there was a lot of appreciation for his work during the Corona period. Apart from this, long time has been spent in Lucknow, Prayagraj and other districts.
