You are made to touch Vyom … Sometimes the teacher wrote a note on the diary, wing commander Vyomika Singh fulfilled his dream

New Delhi: From the narrow streets of the capital Delhi to the infinite heights of the blue sky, the story of Vyomika Singh is like a superhero. A girl whose name is made of ‘Vacu’, that is, and who made the winds his way, widen the country with pride. Sometimes his teacher wrote- ‘You are made to touch Vyom.’ It proved not just a sentence, but a prediction. Today, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh is the pride of the Indian Air Force, who created history by putting the story of Operation Sindoor in front of the country.

The last day of school when a line changed fate
It is about those days when a student Vyomika was in queue outside the staff room for her autograph book at St. Anthony Senior Secondary School in Delhi. This was the last day of the school, and every student wanted some memorable words from his teachers. When Vyomika’s turn came, her Hindi teacher Neelam Vasan wrote in her book: ‘It is made to touch Vyom.’

What did Neelam Maam know that this line would be not just a word, but a map of Vyomica’s life. Today, the same Vyomika is the wing commander of the Indian Air Force, who is not only touching the sky, but is increasing the pride of the country.

That spirit of childhood
The Indian Express shared a story quoting Vyomica’s childhood friend. Vyamika’s friend Shalini Raman Parke, who is now an artist in Bangalore, said, once a boy in a Delhi bus tried to harass Vyomica. She was about to get off the bus, but stopped. Then the boy got so scolded that he was scared. Shalini laughs and says, ‘She came a little upset when she came to the tuition center, but fear? He was not in his dictionary at all. This was our vyamika! ‘

From classroom to court, burning everywhere
Vyomica was a star in school who shone everywhere. His English teacher Jyoti Bisht says, ‘She used to debate in both English and Hindi. His words had so much power that the person in front used to be silent. She was also amazing on the basketball court. Bisht says, “Looking at him on TV, he felt that he is the same vyomika, but now it has become a strong voice for the country.”

Travel from kite to plane
After finishing school in 1998, Vyomica studied Environmental Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering. But his heart was touching the sky. His friend Suruchi Jain says, ‘In class 11, he created a physics project for flying kites. Today she herself is flying in the sky without any door.

Vyamika joined the Indian Air Force and became Wing Commander. His friend Shalini says, ‘At that time there were less girls in the army. It would not have been easy to celebrate the family members, but Vyomika showed it.

Tell the story of Operation Sindoor to the world
Recently, terrorists targeted 26 citizens in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. India responded to Operation Sindoor, in which 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan were destroyed. The government chose two women officers to give information about this mission: Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. Seeing the strong voice and confidence of Vyomica on TV, every Indian’s chest became proud.

Vyamika is also the mother of a daughter today. But she never retreats in the service of the country. His friend Shalini says, ‘We met again in the WhatsApp group of the school in 2013. We were all surprised when it turned out that Vyomika is in the Air Force. She was the same fun girl, just now in uniform.
